Curtis & Sigrid - A Glen Allen Estate Wedding
I kicked off my 2019 wedding season early this year with a beautiful and intimate wedding! Sigrid and Curtis are such a sweet couple and I loved being able to celebrate with them!
When Sigrid and I met in January for our first bridal meeting, we were both confident that weather wouldn’t be an issue… Well, Virginia is a four season in one day kinda state and rain was on the radar all week for their big day! I had the Weather Channel bookmarked for the whole week and was watching it every hour the day before and the day of to see and hope that the weather would change. And slowly, it did. Rain due to start that morning was pushed back. Then to noon. Then to after her ceremony start time. Then to after dinner. And we took it!! Sigrid and Curtis got married at his parent’s home in Glen Allen and there was no rain in sight when they said their vows!! PRAISE!!!
It was a cool day but NO RAIN until the very end of the night which was more than we could’ve hoped for!
I loved the details Sigrid worked on and ESPECIALLY loved their pie table! Instead of having a traditional cake, they decided to cut a pie! One of Curtis’ sisters, Sigrid’s bridesmaid Annabel HAND MADE every pie and I was completely blown away because they looked like store bought professional incredible pies with very intricate details. And their mismatched china and tea cups were the cutest thing ever so obviously, this was a perfect way to start my 2019 wedding season.
Here are a few of my favorites from their beautiful Glen Allen wedding day!
I loved the pie cutting against the traditional cake cutting! So much fun and every single pie looked beyond delicious! We were so thankful that the rain held off until AFTER the pie cutting and the end of the reception!! I had a blast celebrating Sigrid and Curtis’ wedding day with their friends and family. I couldn’t imagine a better wedding to kick off my 2019 wedding season! Forever thankful for these two and I can’t wait to share the gallery with them soon!
