Brett & Cindy - a Virginia State Capitol Engagement
Most of my brides, I have never met until our first meeting at a coffee shop, over FaceTime or sometimes at their engagement session. I met Cindy when we were in high school, and she was one of my high school colorguard captains! Some of my favorite high school memories involve the fun times we had in colorguard and I’ve known Cindy for almosttttt 10 years now- and I just realized how old I’m getting, it’s fine. I graduated, then she graduated and life went on but I remember when she started dating Brett and I was happy for her. Then they got engaged and I was beyond excited for her! So when Cindy reached out to me about photographing their May wedding, there was zero hesitation for me haha! It had been awhile (years) since I’d last seen her but when she and Brett met with me at the Virginia State Capitol for their engagement photos, it felt like it hadn’t been that long! Plus I got to meet Brett for the first time in person and hear a little bit more about them as a couple and that was so fun.
They’d been together for years after meeting at JMU in marching band even though they had actually even went to the same middle school and had mutual friends growing up! I’d say the stars aligned and their paths crossed on the football field. I could tell during their session how relaxed they were with each other and their love was so evident and effortless. These two are the sweetest and I am so excited for their wedding coming up in just a few weeks!!!
